Our Story

Since 1983, Hippo Pools has been dedicated to transforming outdoor spaces into stunning, functional retreats with expertly crafted swimming pools.

What started as a small family-run business has grown into one of South Africa’s most trusted pool specialists, known for quality workmanship, innovative designs, and personalised service.

Over the decades, we have built lasting relationships with our clients by consistently delivering pools that enhance lifestyles and become treasured family gathering spots for generations to come.

Our Standards

As proud members of the National Spa and Pool Institute of South Africa, we follow a strict code of conduct to ensure our clients receive the highest level of service and professionalism.

We use only premium materials and proven construction methods, giving you complete peace of mind that your pool is built or refurbished to stand the test of time.

What We Do

At Hippo Pools, we specialise in the design and construction of custom-built gunite swimming pools tailored to your unique vision and space.

Beyond new builds, we also offer professional refurbishment and resurfacing services to breathe new life into existing pools.

Our fibreglass relining expertise ensures older pools regain their beauty and durability, while our design consultants work closely with you to create a pool that fits your lifestyle - whether that means a sleek lap pool for exercise, a geometric statement piece, or a freeform oasis for relaxation and entertainment.

Why Choose Us

At Hippo Pools, we believe your pool should be more than just a place to swim – it should be a centrepiece for relaxation, entertainment, and connection.

With decades of expertise, competitive pricing, and a reputation for excellence, we make it easy for you to turn your dream pool into a stunning reality.
